Loved this book. It was a great travel companion while on a plane ride and dealing with layovers. I was engrossed from the start and loved the characters which seemed so very real. Highly recommend.

Beware buyers of the newer version of the HJ-112 pedometer. It lacks one important feature the older version of the same model had: the ability to reset to zero the counter. If you do multiple workouts during a day, this feature is handy so you can measure each workout separately. The old model had four buttton on the face, including a reset button. The new version has only three buttons, with the reset replaced by a set button which when pressed resets all stored information like time, stride, etc. You cannot do a temporary reset to zero. So if you walk twice a day, you cannot measure two separate workouts. You get a total for the entire day and only at midnight, the pedometer resets to zero.Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer
Only after calling Omron’s customer service did I find out the new HJ-112 pedometer has an “N” designation, i.e., HJ=112N. Amazon’s listing does not show this. I am disappointed that a very useful feature was eliminated.

This portable friction mount is just superb. Very easy to assemble and adjust for optimum viewing.It is quite stable in just about any angle or surface.

You know the story by now: Hard-rock heroes Alice in Chains help forge a new sound for the 1990’s, inspiring countless bands in their wake, only to disintegrate before the end of the decade, citing typical rock-star excess and drama (see: drug abuse). Any chance of a meaningful reunion is seemingly squashed when frontman Layne Staley is found dead of a heroin overdose in April of 2002, after falling off the face of the Earth completely. That is, until the surviving members — Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez and Sean Kinney – reunite in 2005, acquiring new vocalist William DuVall (Comes With The Fall) the following year, and do enough touring to decide that, yes, an Alice in Chains reunion is worth it and a new album is in order.

“Black Gives Way to Blue” has a big task at hand: Retain a signature sound while re-establishing the band as a force to be reckoned with, in spite of losing their iconic singer. Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to announce that not only do Alice in Chains accomplish that goal, but that they are back and much bigger and better than one could have ever expected. With producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Stone Sour) in tow, Cantrell and company have managed to produce an album that sounds exactly like themselves and is as bold and fresh as anything they have done in their career. The sludgy-riffs, dominant rhythm section and the haunting harmonized vocals are all in place and make for a signature Alice in Chains experience. If fourteen years between albums was too much to bear, rest assured, this album does its best to make up for lost time.

Without a doubt, guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell has taken his rightful spot as frontman on this album, following the loss of Staley. While many may fear that this new incarnation of Alice in Chains is simply a re-dressed version of Cantrell’s solo career, it’s anything but. The first couple of songs are pure Cantrell/old-school Alice in Chains, but when William DuVall comes through on “Last of My Kind,”

I bought this item after my suction cup mount stopped sticking. Wouldn’t you know it, the day after I ordered this, the suction cup mount gave out while I was driving & dropped my gps onto the middle console of my car. It hit hard enough to break the on/off switch. Really ticked me off! Not only was my gps broken, but I was now lost downtown. Thankfully my gps unit was replaced & I immediately put its suction cup out of sight. No way will I use that again. This friction mount is perfect. It’s easy to use, easy to move whenever needed, stays put, & I’m not scared of it sending my gps unit flying.

The book I ordered was sent so quickly I couldn’t believe It got here so fast. Thanks for the excellent service and quality of merchandise.

Let’s start this off with saying that I thought Holden Caufield, from J. D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye, is one of the most disrespectful teens I’ve ever read about. Then I realized that most of his potty mouth or rude comments stay in his head. I though this character reminds me of me sometimes. What he thinks and what he does can be completely different things.

I thought this book was really good. The beginning is a little bit slow but Salinger really must have targeted the teen audience. Though a lot of people think this book should be read by college students, I think anyone in high or even upper middle school would be able to relate.

It makes me wonder what happens to Holden Caufield. I think his experience wandering around New York alone would help him learn that the world doesn’t revolve around him. As a teen I have to admit that at most time I think the same way. I think that Holden has a lot of potential and that he could live up to it if he really strived to. I would recommend this book, its funny and a nonstop page turner.

Book-Water for Elephants A very different book. Not bad reading, but far from exceptional. Would rate it a three and one half stars.
